A young woman and her newborn were waiting for a subway in Philadelphia. They were going to the hospital because the baby wasn’t breathing properly. While the Mom waited, a black man began to harass her. Tameka Bates noticed the situation and put herself between the man, Steven Mason, 47, and the young woman, as they entered the subway. What happened next was recorded by the subway’s video system.
It is obvious from the video that Tameka is a faith-filled woman. She continued to fend off the crazy man, whom she felt was possessed by the devil, despite the danger to herself . During the incident she continued to say, “Satan, the Lord God rebukes you in the name of Jesus. You will not touch this woman.” And the Lord came to protect them both because not five minutes later, the deranged man violently attacked a SEPTA police officer.
Tameka Bates is an admirable woman filled with the courage granted by her faith in God. She knows salvation will be hers through her deep faith in Jesus and so nothing can truly hurt her. Even death is vanquished, because she knows her life is in God’s loving hands and that if He calls her, Heaven awaits her on the other side.
Alleluia!
Kudos to her for her faith and courage.

I was VERY impressed with her courage. The guy was obviously nuts, and huge! She is a perfect example of true Christian courage which is always generated by a belief in Salvation, as promised by Jesus. Under duress, there just isn’t any fear of death and this results in, for many, heroic behavior unbelievers cannot fathom or comprehend.

She certainly was fearless, and you’re right, he was HUGE. Life everlasting does tend to make fear of death a rather silly thing.

Yes, it does. But, I’ve wondered if I’d be able to calmly face death, the way this wonderful woman did.
