I know you won’t either agree or like this, but my heart found it’s rest when I stopped believing in a god. For the first time in 47 yrs I was restful.

Believing in “a god”, rather than God, may have been the reason for your agitated state. Disengaging yourself from “a god” who fails to justify your adoration could be a very restful experience. I would encourage you to now seek the “one true God” and find, not only restfulness, but joy and happiness as well. Good luck and God bless.
