Sharon Slater is the President of Family Watch International. Her organization was established in 1999 to “preserve and promote the family, based on marriage between a man and a woman as the societal unit that provides the best outcome for men, women and children.”
Sharon’s non-profit also “provides family-based humanitarian aid to orphans and vulnerable children.” Much of her work is done through the United Nations.
In 2010, Mrs. Slater attended the 54th Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations. During the event, she was disturbed to discover, that the GSUSA (Girl Scouts of United States of America) was a member of WAGGGS (World Association of Guide Girls and Girl Scouts). And that GSUSA was the principle financial contributor to WAGGGS, including contributing 42% of the GSUSA funds donated to the Juliette Low program, which was being then being used by the pro-abortion WAGGGS for “capacity building.”
The shock continued, when Mrs. Slater discovered that in 2007 alone, GSUSA contributed 1.8 million dollars to WAGGGS. And to make matters worse, nearly all of the money was taken out of the dues paid by American Girls Scouts.
GSUSA is the largest group of Girl Scouts in the world, and at the time, a girl joining the Girl Scouts automatically joined the pro-abortion WAGGGS as well. As a result, American Girl Scouts comprised nearly a third of the WAGGGS membership.
- WAGGGS
Sharon was shocked by this association because WAGGGS is not only pro-abortion but is partnered with another aggressively pro-abortion organization, the World YWCA (Young Women’s Christian Association), whose Christian precepts have obviously been hijacked and trashed by radical, second-wave feminist ideology as well.
WAGGGS is also closely affiliated with the UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) which advocates sterilization, UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) and UNAIDS (United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS). Each and every one of these organizations actively promotes abortion, comprehensive sexuality education and sexual rights, which are not only the basis for much of radical, second-wave feminism’s activities but are diametrically opposed to the Christian family values most parents of little Girl Scouts are teaching their young daughters.
Sharon was also shocked to realize that there was a close association between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood , the largest abortion clinic in America, when she discovered a pamphlet produced by International Planned Parenthood called, “Healthy, Happy and Hot” at the same event. This booklet, which promotes sexual pleasure and masturbation among other sexually charged activities, such as having sex (including same-sex) while drunk, was stacked on a table at the rear of the Girl Scout’s meeting room.
Mrs. Slater immediately made this discovery, and the remainder of her discoveries, public, and was instantly and viciously subjected to a full-bore, radical, second-wave feminist backlash. She persisted, and with a number of Girl Scouts and Girl Scout leaders, she began to conduct extensive research on the facts surrounding these questionable associations of the GSUSA. If you’d like to know just how compromised the administration of the Girl Scouts has become, Google “100 Questions for the Girl Scouts.”
As Mrs. Slater’s research proceeded to expose the true facts about this unholy alliance, the GSUSA and WAGGGS began damage control, removing questionable information concerning their associations and agendas from their websites, responding to pertinent questions with vague obscurity or outright lies and back-watering where they could, as the glare of media attention swirled around them.
This pathetic place is where this, once illustrious and highly regarded, organization has landed after it began to implode in 1993 when it decided to be “more inclusive” and allow the girls to say “Allah”, or another word, instead of “God” in their Girl Scout oath. It continued to sound its own death knell when the organization chose to allow gay leaders and gay girls into their troops, which was in direct opposition to the tenets of Christianity. Today, the organization is overrun by twisted women.
The Girl Scouts was established in 1912, by Juliette Gordon Low of Savannah, Georgia. The organization saw its membership numbers continue to rise until radical, second-wave feminism raised its ugly head (opposing traditional marriage, religion and family) and reduced its numbers from 3.9 million to 2.7 million between 1970 and 1980.
Those membership numbers slowly recovered, reaching 3.5 million members in 1992. At the time of its decision to ban God from its oath in 1993, its membership numbers plummeted to 3.3 million members in 1996. The organization has stagnated over the last 20 years, with just 3.5 million members today.
In 1995, in response to the Girl Scouts decision to remove God from their oath, the American Heritage Girls was established in
West Chester, Ohio by a group of concerned Christian parents. Patti Garibay was chosen to become the head of the new organization.
To quote from the American Heritage Girls website, “American Heritage Girls helps girls live their life for God!” AHG Oath – “I promise to love God, cherish my family, honor my country and serve my community”.
There is no fear that this organization will compromise the lives of the young children within its purview. It is faith-based and principled.
Both Sharon Slater, and Patti Garibay, have four children each and are not only committed to the well-being of their own children, but are obviously committed to the well-being of other people’s children too. Both of these women are admirable women who recognize evil, and are willing to stand-up to it.
I admire these women for their strength, tenacity, forthrightness and courage.
May God continue to bless their valiant efforts for the health, safety and souls of young girls everywhere.
