Despite Dr. Meeker’s successful career, as both a nationally acclaimed pediatrician, and author, I am including her in my Admirable Women analogues because she recently gave a very pertinent, and poignant, lecture during the TED (Ideas Worth Spreading) Conference.

Meg Meeker’s presentation specifically addresses the cultural damage being done to children, through the disingenuous perpetuation of a 50-year-old, ill-advised and incorrect theory, promulgated by radical, feminist ideology, that destructively denigrates men, specifically Dads, as being, not only DUMB, but irrelevant.

Dr. Meeker rails against this unconscionable premise, stressing the vital importance of fathers to, not only to our culture, but more importantly to their children’s healthy development, self-image and success. And, Dr. Meeker specifically blames this destructive predicament on the female generation of baby boomers who continue to promote this false, and ill-conceived, distortion of men, as amusing.
