Current EVEntS – GOP Congresswoman Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) Kills Pro-Life Bill While Claiming to be a Christian

Some of you may not remember Republican Renee Ellmers’ surprising defeat of seven-term Congressman, and Democrat, Bob Etheridge in North Carolina’s 2nd District in 2010.

Ellmers defeated Etheridge by 49.5%–48.7%. In a recount, it was determined that Ellmers won by just 1483 votes or by .08%

Etheridge had always won his elections by wide margins. During his last four elections he’d never won with less than 65% of the vote.

Then, in June of 2010, he ran into two “college students”, with a video camera, on a street in Washington, D.C., and all of that would suddenly change

The two students, who claimed to be working on a “project”, approached Etheridge and asked, “Do you fully support the Obama agenda?”

Well, as you can see from the following video, that’s when all-hell-broke-loose.

Abortion Breitbart logoThe video, posted by “DCCameraGuy”, was first released on Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government website and it immediately went viral. And as a result, Etheridge lost his first election in 14 years, to a newcomer named Renee Ellmers.

Ellmers, 51, swept into office on a wave of Tea Party support and many expected great things from her. That would not prove to be the case as she has proved to be one of the worse members of the GOP caucus.

In January of this year, Ellmers bested herself, when she convinced approximately two dozen Republican, and all female, Representatives, including Rep. Kristi Noem, 43, (R-S.C.), Rep. Cynthia Lummis, 60, (R-WY), Rep. Virginia Foxx, 71, (R-N.C.) and Rep. Martha Roby, 38, (R-AL). and Rep. Ann Wagner, 52, (R-MO) , to campaign against a late-term abortion bill, which Ellmers had voted for in 2013.

The bill banned abortions after 20 weeks because recent research proved that fetus’ over 20 weeks old experience pain, pain which could be described as literally agonizing, during an abortion. And, according to poll after poll, Americans overwhelmingly supported the bill.

Abortion Red State logoRedState.com writer Leon H. Wolf wrote, “Let us be clear about two things. First, this bill is supported by a large majority of the population including men, women, millennials, and independents. According to Q-Poll, women favor it 59-35, millennials support it 57-38 and independents support it 56-36. Even among Democrats it is basically a toss-up issue, with Democrats barely opposing it 47-46. So Ellmers has placed herself to the left of the average Democrat voter on this issue with her hysterical shrieking and her attempts to paint the passage of the bill as a doomsday scenario.

Second, there is absolutely no scenario in which you can call yourself pro-life in any way and oppose this bill. If you have an abortion bill that is favored by half of Democrats and you oppose it, then you are pro-abortion, period. And not just a little bit pro-abortion, you’re outside the mainstream pro-abortion. The public supports this bill 60%-33%. If you oppose it, you are a pro-abortion extremist. Ellmers is either lying to her constituents about being pro-life or she has become a poltroon on this issue now that the GOP has taken control of the house and she figures she can increase her district’s share of the federal feeding trough.”

And yet, despite the statistics proving her absolutely wrong, Ellmers said, in a closed-door, open-mic session of the House Republicans, that she believed the bill would cost the party support among millennials. The fact is that the millennials (ages 15-35) are proving to be a very pro-life group of young people.

In addition, according to a Marist poll, 84 percent of Americans favor further restrictions on abortion and 60 percent of those polled believed it to be “morally wrong.” In a recent CBS News poll, 60 percent of Americans thought abortion “should not be permitted” or available only under “stricter limits.” In a Quinnipiac poll, 60 percent of women support limiting abortions to the first 20 weeks of pregnancy. Even liberal CNN’s poll showed that 58 percent of Americans believe abortion should be legal only in a “few circumstances” or “always illegal.”

But despite all of the evidence to support this bill, in a hysterical flurry of last-minute, foaming-at-the-mouth within the caucus, Ellmers suddenly wanted a proviso removed from the bill and basically killed the bill in the process.

Ellmers wanted the statement removed that required women, who became pregnant through rape, to report the rape to the police before she could receive an abortion. Duh? Why did she want this done?

As pro-life writer, Jill Stanek wrote, “Right, we certainly wouldn’t want to encourage victims to report their rapes, so their perpetrators might be stopped from terrorizing them again, or other girls and women. And women would never lie about being raped just ask Rolling Stone about that, or Duke.”

The vote on this bill was scheduled in support of the national March for Life rallies which were to take place, across the nation, the next day. Ms. Ellmers antics caused the bill to be tabled.

But, none of this mattered to Ms. Ellmers, and her feminist cohorts. And to prove it, in protest of the bill, Ellmers and Rep. Jackie Walorski, 52, (R-Ind) requested that their names be removed, as co-sponsors of the bill. This type of request rarely occurs in Congress. But, Ms. Ellmers didn’t care about that either.

Failing to see what-the-hell Ellmers’ point was, it became obvious to me that, in true radical, second-wave feminist style, the drama had nothing to do with the proviso in the bill, but was, instead, all about her!

When Ellmers was asked why she voted for the exact same “reporting” language in the bill which passed in the House on June 18, 2013, she said it, “wasn’t evident in the base language of the bill.” Duh?

Now, here is a “woman” who was, for many years, a nurse and who states on her website, “As a mom, Christian and nurse, my beliefs have deepened through experience… I am pro-family” and yet she is opposed to a bill which would limit the pain and suffering of an unborn child and require a raped woman to report the rape to police? How could anyone find something wrong with that?

Abortion Police PrecinctWell, Ellmers thinking is typical of a radical, second-wave feminist – totally irrational. First of all, my suspicion is that any woman who does not choose to report a rape to the police, has not been truly raped.

Being raped has got to be, next to being murdered, the worst experience on earth for a woman. Every instinct in your body would tell you to report the creep to the cops! And, the singular upside, to the “sexual revolution”, is that there is a more sympathetic response to rape victims today.

So, there is no rational reason for not reporting the attack, unless, you were lying.  As to Ellmers’ support of this type of questionable behavior, it is an outrage, but, to do it at the expense of an unborn child’s pain is unconscionable! I guess that’s why she is no longer a nurse – she is heartless!

So, once again we are confronted with a radical, second-wave feminist who has substituted the ideology of radical feminism for her the tenets of her Christian faith! Only this time, she is, shockingly, a professed Christian andRepublican. God help us!

How can Ellmers show her face at church when she has taken the side of a questionably raped female at the expense of the agony of a baby? The answer? Ellmers is not a Christian. She is, first and foremost, a radical, second-wave feminist. Simply put, her allegiance lies with other female feminists, and not with God.

Abortion RINONot only is Elmers a RINO (Republican In Name Only), but, worse yet, she is a CHINO (Christian In Name Only)!

Despite what she claims, she is just another two-bit huckster, female, politician who is pushing the extremist ideology of radical feminism upon a nation of 250,000,000 Christians or, on 74% of the population.

If you are a constituent of hers, call Ellmers office at 202-225-4531 and tell her you are going to help to vote her out, in the next election!

This episode just goes to prove that whether the female “politician” is a Republican or Democrat, a Protestant or Catholic, a mother or childless, they must be vetted first. Do they place all children’s lives above women living a “feminist lifestyle”, or not? Yes, or No?

Any female, who aspires to become a politician, and who would publicly acknowledge their support for killing unborn children, rather than hold the mother accountable for that innocent life, should never be voted into office! If, for no other reason, than that she is the most despicable example of womanhood on earth, and a radical feminist taboot!

“Even Ramesh Ponnuru, a senior editor at the National Review, and the author of, “The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life,” told Politico that President George W. Bush’s ability to sign a partial-birth abortion ban rested solely on the willingness of male lawmakers to push it through. Ponnuru went on to say, “But that now appears to be a bygone era with the increase of women’s influence in Congress.”

WE MUST STOP VOTING FOR THESE EVIL WOMEN! THEY ARE LITERALLY DESTROYING OUR CHILDREN, AND BY ASSOCIATION, OUR NATION!!

PS. The irony of this situation is that Ellmers’ predecessor, Democrat Bob Etheridge, received a rating of just 30% from the rabid organization called, NARAL (National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League). The rating shows that he had a strong pro-life voting record, which NARAL despised.

Maybe children would have been safer, if Bob had kept his seat in Congress.
