Tammy Bruce was once a rabid feminist and pro-choice activist. She was, from 1990 to 1996, the President of the Los Angeles chapter of The National Organization of Women (NOW) and she also served two years as a member of the National Board of Directors for NOW.
Ms. Bruce’s life has been full of conflict including lesbian relationships, one of which resulted in the suicide of a jilted partner, and heterosexual relationships as well. Rather then define herself as a bi-sexual, Bruce prefers to be refered to as a lesbian. Her conflicted life is best described in her own words, “I am a gay, pro-choice, gun-owning, pro-death penalty, Tea Party Independent conservative.” Whatever that means. She has obviously held many conflicting views.
Her career, beyond radical feminism, has included working on the 1990’s campaigns of Democrats Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein and Bill Clinton. By 2000 Ms. Bruce was beginning to question the political left and in 2003, despite being a lifelong Democrat, she switched her political party to “unaffiliated.”
Ms. Bruce’s radio talk show, which ran for most of the 2000’s, on Talk Radio Network was more conservative in its leanings as Bruce began to question and redefine her long-held political views. In recent years she has supported Republican candidates for office including Gov. Schwarzenegger, both George H.W. Bush and his son George and Presidential candidate John McCain. In 2012, she was guest host on TRN once again, when The Laura Ingraham Show was cancelled.
Tammy Bruce has gradually moved away from radical feminism and in recent years she has developed her own talk show called The Tammy Bruce Show which is now notably labeled as representing a “conservative” genre. She is also a Fox News contributor and has become involved with conservative talk show host, Dennis Prager’s, online university – prageruniversity.com. All the “courses” are five-minute long videos and Ms. Bruce as made a very interesting video for Prager’s website. In Ms. Bruce’s video, called Feminism 2.0, Bruce exposes the deformity, and lies, surrounding radical feminism. She clearly points out the demented views feminism espouses and warns women against adopting it as a lifestyle.
You must admire Ms. Bruce for her honest change of heart over her lifetime. And I commend her willingness to speak publicly about the truth she has discovered about radical feminism along her way. She has been to the inner core of feminism and knows of what she speaks. Her Feminism 2.0 video follows.
