Motherhood is a Calling

The Road

psalm-127-3-5-n

By Rachel Jankovic

A few years ago, when I just had four children and when the oldest was still three, I loaded them all up to go on a walk. After the final sippy cup had found a place and we were ready to go, my two-year-old turned to me and said, “Wow! You have your hands full!”

She could have just as well said, “Don’t you know what causes that?” or “Are they all yours?!”

Everywhere you go, people want to talk about your children. Why you shouldn’t have had them, how you could have prevented them, and why they would never do what you have done. They want to make sure you know that you won’t be smiling anymore when they are teenagers. All this at the grocery store, in line, while your children listen.

A Rock-Bottom Job?

The truth is that, years ago, before this generation of…

  1. Here is a portrait of a very Godly woman:

    Sarah Pierrepont (1723)
    By Jonathan Edwards

“They say there is a young lady in [New Haven] who is beloved of that Great Being, who made and rules the world, and that there are certain seasons in which this Great Being, in some way or other invisible, comes to her and fills her mind with exceeding sweet delight; and that she hardly cares for any thing, except to meditate on him—that she expects after a while to be received up where he is, to be raised up out of the world and caught up into heaven; being assured that he loves her too well to let her remain at a distance from him always. There she is to dwell with him, and to be ravished with love and delighted forever. Therefore, if you present all the world before her, with the richest of its treasures, she disregards it and cares not for it, and is unmindful of any pain or affliction; is most just and conscientious in all her conduct; and you could not persuade her to do any thing wrong or sinful, if you would give her all the world, lest she should offend this Great Being. She is of a wonderful sweetness, calmness, and universal benevolence of mind; especially after this Great God has manifested himself to her mind. She will sometimes go about from place to place, singing sweetly; and seems to be always full of joy and pleasure; and no one knows for what. She loves to be alone, walking in the fields and groves, and seems to have some one invisible always conversing with her.”

[Sarah Pierrepont [Pierpont] later became the wife of Jonathan Edwards in 1727.]

“Jonathan Edwards’ legacy includes: 1 U.S. Vice-President, 1 Dean of a law school, 1 dean of a medical school, 3 U.S. Senators, 3 governors, 3 mayors, 13 college presidents, 30 judges, 60 doctors, 65 professors, 75 Military officers, 80 public office holders, 100 lawyers, 100 clergymen, and 285 college graduates.

“How may this be explained? Edwards was a godly man, but he was also hard working, intelligent and moral. Furthermore, Winship states, ‘Much of the capacity and talent, intensity and character of the more than 1,400 of Edwards’ family is due to Mrs. Edwards.'”

    • Yes it is. The author brought to the fore the selfish, anti-Christian cynicism associated with child-bearing that continues to persist today. This was NEVER the case until the non-Christian, radicals invented the anti-child, anti-family ideology of second-wave feminism in late 1960s and early 1970s. These miserable non-Christian women took the exact opposite position on nearly every tenet of Christianity, which God lovingly gave us, and created a MONSTER. These evil women’s creation of the “Sexual Revolution” not only led directly to the debauchment of millions of innocent female baby-boomers, it also led directly to the legalization of abortion in 1974 to “correct” all of the “unplanned” pregnancies that occurred, which in turn, led that same debauched generation of women to justify their horrific abortion decisions by astoundingly redefining children as “burdensome”, and motherhood as a “waste of women’s talents”. Feminism has always been a path paved wto hell. Please read my post titled, “10+ Tenets of Christianity vs. 10+ Ideals of Radical Feminism” to see just how insidious and destructive the odious ideology of radical, second, and the more evil, third-wave feminism has truly been for our women, and by association, for our formerly illustrious Christian Western. Civilization. Feminism is literally destroying EVERYTHING we once valued, with demented results.
