Vatican in Rome
I am a life long Catholic, as were ALL of my Irish ancestors, and yet I hate the blatant, irrational, and unsubstantiated political correctness with which the new Pope views the world, and with which he asserts his “authority.”
The last time I checked, Popes were simply and solely, the much-needed authorities on Church doctrine.
This Pope, on the other hand, envisions himself as a political “expert” on everything BUT Church doctrine. And, to make matters worse, his ill-conceived political “expertise” is routinely promulgated at the expense of Church doctrine.
Incredibly, the Pope continues to routinely spew geopolitical hogwash, despite the fact that Our Lady of Fatima herself specifically warned against this type of political overreach by priests.

When Our Lady appeared to the three little shepherds in Portugal between 1916 and 1920, she said, “Priests must be pure, very pure. They should not busy themselves with anything except what concerns the Church and souls.”
It befuddles me that, despite this admonition, Pope Francis continues to do the exact opposite, while primarily busying himself with Marxist political ideology, with chilling perplexity.
This new Pope behaves as though he were just another political hack for the loony left, rather than the primary representative of God on earth.
Pope Francis’ speech is routinely riddled with liberal political ideology and yet he is rarely quoted referencing God, or teaching God’s will.
It’s bad enough that this Pope publicly embraces radical, left-wing political theories but, at the same time, he is also waffling on multiple Catholic truths, including the Church’s righteous condemnation of homosexuality, divorce and abortion. Sins which have been denounced by the Vatican, as dangerous and destructive, for thousands of years.
Pope Francis’ creation of this double-edged sword of extreme political correctness is not only unnerving, and confusing, but it is down right scary! Whose side is he on? Or better yet! His behavior begs the question, “Is Pope Francis really a Catholic or is he simply an atheist?”

This Pope’s continued disdain for all things Catholic, while spending his time harping about political non-issues, includes his irrational hatred for “unfettered” capitalism.
Astoundingly, this commentary shows his profound ignorance of the fact that if it weren’t for the charitable generosity provided by those nasty capitalists, his Church would be one of many institutions that would immediately suffer from a lack of funding, as the Church survives primarily on capitalist charity, right down to the neighborhood Catholic capitalist who owns the local hardware store and contributes to his local Catholic church.
While promoting another highly political, and leftist, issue, the Pope has publicly advocated for gun control, while ironically, demanding military (guns) intervention to control ISIS’ slaughter of Middle Eastern Christians.
You can’t have it both ways!
This irrational view is just another indication of a man who is functioning well beyond his ability. And this example, in particular, is an overt sign of some very serious flaws in the Pope’s critical thinking processes.
It is becoming more obvious, even to the casual observer, that Pope Francis is suffering from an incredible level of disconnect!
And, one of the tragic outcomes of Pope Francis’ left-leaning verbiage, is that rather than inspire Catholics to adopt higher standards of Christian behavior, his “leading from behind”, instead, demoralizes those Catholics who are trying desperately to sustain those very standards within an increasingly threatening, anti-Christian world. The truth is that he has basically abandoned his flock to those who would destroy us.
People purport that Pope Francis’ perplexing behavior is a reflection of Jesus’ interaction with, and embrace of, sinners. But, there is a vast difference between Jesus’ reasoning for His actions and those of this current Pope.
The Holy Bible
The sinners, to whom Jesus strove to bring the Good News, were clueless. They did not know about Jesus’ teachings, and so their lives reflected this profound lack of knowledge. They were ignorant sinners and Jesus brought them the truth, and the light, they repented and were brought into the fold.
Jesus did NOT enable continued misdeeds, but instead, insisted that once His followers had heard His word, that they, “Go and sin no more.” He never cut them a break, or encouraged their continued sinfulness by saying, “Go and sin some more.”
And yet this is exactly what this current Pope is doing while he continues to enable, reward and embrace, well-versed-in-the-Word-of-God, sinners!
Rather than encourage repentance, and a return to the fold, Pope Francis makes excuses for the deviant, and immoral, behavior of today’s wayward Catholics. Catholics who have been radicalized by the ideology of non-Christian, lesbian-led, radical, second and third-wave feminists, such as Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, Ruth Bader-Ginsburg and Bella Abzug. Anti-Christian ideology that was simultaneously advanced world-wide through these same anti-Christian, radical feminist’s invention of “political correctness“. Preposterous, deliberately inaccurate and lie-ladened, political correctness, which Pope Francis has astoundingly embraced personally.

The sinners he embraces, and panders to, are the very same misguided, arrogant “Catholics” who, unlike 2000 years ago, are fully aware of Jesus’ teachings and choose instead to stubbornly, unrepentantly and arrogantly, reject them, or worse yet, push for “changes” within Church doctrine to better reflect their sinfulness, as acceptable.
These are the very same influential, fallen-away, “Catholic” hypocrites, like Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Vice-President Joe Biden, Sen. Ted Kennedy, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, U. S. Supreme Court Justices William Brennan and Anthony Kennedy, who have literally defined their lives by their public contempt for the tenets of the Catholic faith that they purportedly embrace.

And, to make matters worse, not only does this Pope excuse these influential “Catholics” heretical lives but he does the same for everyday, fallen-away Catholics for whom divorce, homosexuality and abortion define their lives, by inviting them to private meetings with him at the Vatican, while at the same time, leaving the true followers of Christianity waiting for hours, outside in the rain.
By the Pope’s “acceptance” of deviant behavior as normal, and his unnerving lack of direction to “Go and sin no more”, he is virtually giving permission to these anti-Christian anarchists to continue to whittle away at Church doctrine.
Rather than stand his ground and insist that these heretics return to the fold, he gives them preferential treatment, and astoundingly gives-them-a-pass in public saying, “Who am I to judge.”
Well Good Lord! if the Pope feels no need to “judge” sinners, and lead their return to the fold, what’s the point of his very existence? Or, for that matter, the Catholic Church’s existence?
If Pope Francis accepts sin, rather than demanding repentance, what is the Church’s role in the world?
If he stands for moral relativism, rather than moral absolutism, he literally demotes the Church to the unenviable position of being simply on par with every other secularized institution on earth.
So, what is the Church’s ultimate purpose, or better yet, who needs it, since it is now just one, among dozens, of banal political voices howling in the wilderness?
Author Steven W. Mosher is a pro-life activist, social scientist and a convert to Catholicism. His journey to Catholicism began with his Stanford University research in China, on the effects of the Chinese Communist Party’s one-child policy.
The reality and the horrors of the third trimester abortions, to which hysterical, crying and wailing pregnant women were forcibly subjected, changed Mosher’s life. He said, “They were crying, begging for mercy and praying for their dying children. It’s one thing to think about abortion in the abstract, but when you see a baby at seven-months gestation, it’s a baby — truly one of us,” He went on to say that, “It was as if the pit of hell opened up before me. All of the rationalizations were swept away by the brute facts — the humanity of these babies and their killing. I instantly realized that an abortion was the taking of a human life, and I became pro-life.”
Upon reflection, Mosher came to the Church because he ultimately decided that the “only organization consistently defending the sanctity of life from conception to natural death was the Catholic Church, which had preserved the fullness of the truth. Others had abandoned parts, if not all, of it.”
Steven Mosher is married and has nine children. And, as a U. S. social scientist with a speciality in Chinese culture, he is proficient in: Mandarin and Cantonese, but is also fluent in Spanish, German, Dutch, Taiwanese, and Japanese.
Obviously, Mosher is a profoundly intelligent social scientist, and a committed Catholic, but he does not suffer fools gladly. He recently wrote an article expressing his shock concerning the recent release of Pope Francis’ hysterically naive, preposterously misguided and deliberately misleading Papal encyclical on “global warming”, which was titled Laudato Si.
Mosher’s article, which was published in the New York Post, reflects the very same consternation that many of the intelligent, well-educated, well-informed, honest and serious, Christian scientists in the field of climatology, experienced at yet another profoundly erroneous assault on the facts, undertaken by way of the misguided, and outrageous, “consensus” commentaries produced by the Pope, and his highly political, radical leftist advisers. Advisers, whom you can see from Mosher’s article, are life-long atheists, political leftists and social anarchists. Twisted men who are bent on destroying the Church from within; civilization from without and humanity through tyranny. Their goals are the attainment of pure political power and their short-sighted arrogance will do nothing more than return humanity to abject poverty, while they live in undeserved luxury, above the fray.

Pope Francis has allowed himself to become a puppet for the jealous power mongers of political correctness. Those who would destroy good, in order to reap political power for themselves.
And, the fact that a Pope would embrace such a blatant Marxist agenda as his own, is an appalling disgrace!
It is a conceited betrayal, of the highest order, of the pious position of the Papacy. And, his misguided “enemies list” has resulted in the contamination of the Vatican by vicious, anti-Christian vermin who support those same baseless, irrational delusions.
Pope Francis has literally ventured into the realm of the absurd, while he deliberately chooses to portray himself as a “common, humble man”, when the unvarnished truth is, that he is nothing of the sort.
His fake “humility” is arrogantly tinged with palpable disdain for the very teachings of the Church he supposedly represents. He is a man of astounding egotistical effrontery and conceit!
Swiss Guard
Pope Francis has even chosen to disrupt the Vatican’s thousand-year old tradition of living in the Papal apartments, arrogantly wreaking havoc on the security personal, the household routines and the people who are required to attend to his needs. And rather than consider the enormous challenges of reinventing time-honored, and successful traditions for those involved, he recently fired the head of the Swiss Guard because he took issue with the Pope’s decision to ignore the decades old security system, which had successfully protected the Pope for decades!
So, by choosing to lower the Church’s acceptable standards of behavior, while at the same time pandering, and placating, sinners through his advocacy of misguided political theories, rather than advocating for the good, proven, and solid tenets of Christianity, Pope Francis is unwittingly unleashing, enabling and embracing hatred for Christians, and Christianity, throughout the world.
Thanks to his personal inability to acknowledge, or even feign efforts to vanquish, evil, his global flock is being persecuted at levels not seen since ancient Rome. ISIS is now booby-trapping Christian infants so they explode, when picked up!!!

The Pope’s recent “global warming” encyclical is by far the most embarrassing of his political pronouncement to date.
It shows the profound level of brainwashing he has experienced, and shoots his credibility, as a Christian world leader, in the foot.
Francis has revealed himself to be a political puppet of profound proportions on this topic, as it is an irrefutable scientific fact that global warming ceased to advance 19 years ago, in 1996.
“Climate change” is now nothing more than an instrument of intimidation and extortion used for purely political reasons, to dishonestly punish those who have contributed so much to humanity’s well-being and advancement. It is a vehicle driven purely by jealousy, by those who cannot compete on the open market. It is used to create unnecessary turmoil while unjustifiably pitting the “haves” against the “have-nots.”
As Thomas Sowell, the American economist, social theorist, political philosopher, and author, stated so simply, “Would you bet your paycheck on a weather forecast for tomorrow? If not, then why should this country bet billions on global warming predictions that have even less foundation?”
And yet, this is exactly what the Pope has foolishly done in his rush to judgement of those who provide all of mankind with the highest standard of living in history.

I’m convinced he has!
And, thanks to the Pope’s abandonment of the essential tenets of Christianity, in favor of the destructive, anti-Christian ideology of radical feminism’s political correctness, we as Christians, are now left defenseless, leaderless and vulnerable to across-the-board, all-out attack!
If nothing else, the sudden proliferation of Christian persecutions world-wide, should give the Pope pause.
We can only hope and pray that HE will soon return to the fold.
Do the Pope and I live on the same planet?

Having read through Pope Francis’ new encyclical, I am dismayed at how many groundless assertions it makes. From a strictly scientific point of view, Laudato Si is an embarrassment.
I’m not talking about the much ballyhooed support the encyclical gives to climate change. The problem lies in other questionable claims it makes about the “environmental crisis,” and “the symptoms of sickness evident in the soil, in the water, in the air, and in all forms of life.”
Here are some of the fictions related in Chapter One of the encyclical, which is entitled “What is Happening to Our Common Home”:
On the issue of water, for example, the encyclical claims that “One particularly serious problem is the quality of water available to the poor…the quality of available water is constantly diminishing.”
But according to the Millennium Development Goals 2014 Report, “Access to an improved drinking water source became a reality for 2.3 billion people” over the past 20 years. This United Nations report rightly celebrates the fact that “the target of halving the proportion of people without access to an improved drinking water source was achieved in 2010, five years ahead of schedule.”
Then there is the section of the encyclical called “The Loss of Biodiversity,” which makes the sweeping assertion that human beings are killing off other species at an alarming rate: “Each year sees the disappearance of thousands of plant and animal species which we will never know, which our children will never see, because they have been lost for ever. The great majority become extinct for reasons related to human activity.”The evidence does not support this claim. While many species have seen their natural habitats reduced, the Convention on Biological Diversity set a goal of setting aside 17% of global terrestrial areas and 10% of coastal and marine areas by 2020 as nature preserves. The good news is that such preserves currently include some “14.6% of the earth’s land surface area and 9.7% of its coastal marine areas.”
This means we are already very close to achieving our internationally agreed upon goal of protecting biodiversity and reducing anthropogenic species extinction in this way. There is no need for panic.
The encyclical also looks askance at economic growth: “[T]he growth of the past two centuries has not always led to…an improvement in the quality of life.”
Really? In 1815, there were approximately 1 billion people alive on the planet. The average lifespan was 30 years, and the per capita income was a mere $100.
Today there are 7.3 billion people on Planet Earth. They can expect to live to an average age of 71. They also enjoy a GDP per capita (using purchasing power parity) of more than $12,000. In other words, as our numbers have grown, our well-being and prosperity have multiplied. Lifespans have more than doubled and per capita incomes have risen a hundredfold!
How can this dramatic — and historically unprecedented — improvement in the quality of life be so cavalierly dismissed?
A dismal tone of environmental “apocalypse now” pervades the entire document, as when it breathlessly proclaims that “Doomsday predictions can no longer be met with irony or disdain. We may well be leaving to coming generations debris, desolation and filth.”
Such passages read for all the world like “The Limits to Growth” study commissioned by the Club of Rome, a global think tank. This 1972 study predicted that the world would run out of various “nonrenewable resources” in the 1980s and 1990s, and that environmental, economic and societal collapse would follow.
It didn’t happen then, and there is no evidence that it will happen now.
It is perhaps no coincidence that Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, a radical environmentalist who had a part in drafting the encyclical, is a member of the Club of Rome. Schellnhuber was apparently selected for this role by Archbishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, the head of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
Pope Francis is not trained in the natural sciences and so necessarily relied on environmental “experts” selected by others to advise him on these matters. Who but the head of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences should have ensured that this encyclical was free of the errors of scientific fact the it is littered with?
But in selecting Schellnhuber, Archbishop Sorondo might as well have turned the pope’s manuscript over to a fundraising copywriter from the Environmental Defense Fund.
The people pushing this agenda aren’t interested in smart solutions that benefit humans while protecting the planet. They’re alarmists who won’t be happy until we’re back in caves.

Many Catholics are wary of Pope Francis His firing of Cardinal Burke and others who disagreed with him is too similar to Obama’s firing of many military officers who disagreed with him.
The assumption of a St. Francis persona, humility, etc. appear to be assumed to gain credibility for his views.

I am really sorry about the Pope. For some odd reason I have felt compelled to apologize to Catholics all over the place on behalf of the Pope, perhaps because I empathize a great deal with what it means to be left leaderless, rudderless during hard times when you truly need your leadership the most. I am not Catholic and yet even I look to the Pope with some curiosity, but he has repeatedly just left me scratching my head.
The world can get really scary when your leadership starts collapsing all around you, but it’s a good lesson for Christians because it helps us to remember that there is an Authority higher then all others that we must keep our eyes on no matter what happens in the world.

Somehow your comment went to my spam folder? Very odd. Gremlins? But, yes, for the first time in my life, I feel betrayed by our own Pope. I’m not alone in my sentiment as Pope Francis’s approval rating has dropped from a high of 76% in early 2014 to 59% today. In addition, his unfavorable ratings have nearly doubled, jumping from 9% in 2014 to 16% in 2015. I wish he’d just stick to commenting on the tenets of our faith. We’d all be better off.

Maybe that’s harsh, but what sort of Catholic refers to Our Holy Father with as ‘just another political hack for the loony left?’ The way you refer to him throughout this article is utterly disgraceful…
If you disagree with him, do so in silence.
The Pope has opposed homosexuality, abortion, wars (which, contrary to what you warmongers may think, are against the teachings of Jesus.) If you actually read Laudato Si, you would know he also criticizes abortion and many other practices of the left. ‘Shameless pandering’? Not at all.
Also, none of us should judge sinners, that is the job of God alone. The Pope never said that homosexuality is acceptable behavior, only that we should not judge and hate them. I’m sure that plenty of adulterers, hypocrites (!!) and money-hoarders have accepted in Churches. People learn and change through love, not hate.
I live in an estate which is worth six million dollars, and yet I think the Pope’s remarks about inequality are spot on. Do you? I doubt it, because you believe what our politicians say – we worked for our money! So? We have the obligation to give our wealth to the poor!
Scientists agree with global warming too. What evidence do you have to oppose climate change? Have you read anything about it outside of what our politicians tell you? So you basically believe right wing politicians over the Pope? And yet you call yourself a devout Catholic?
Don’t even get me started on the NY Post article. A series of selectively picked vague arguments against Laudato Si that don’t even hit the mark and often are completely irrelevant or misleading.
I am quite conservative. Actually when gay marriage was passed as acceptable by the Supreme Court, I didn’t even want to return to the US. But I’d never support the rhetoric of the GOP above what the Pope Says.
Finally, as to the ‘disconnect,’ polls show that Pope Francis is almost as loved as Pope John Paul II, especially among very religious Catholics. So speak for yourself, not for me, thanks.

As far as Jesus and war, I don’t recall Him ever preaching about war. Next, I did not say the Pope WAS a political hack for looney left. I said he publicly BEHAVES that way. I never said I was a DEVOUT Catholic. I consider myself a good, traditional Catholic who has personally witnessed the public personas of SEVEN Popes. This Pope is like no other I have known! Unlike the others, Pope Francis is highly controversial because he is SO political. As far as devotees, all Popes are loved by their flock, Francis, as a result of his left-leaning commentary is drawing from the left-leaning media’s attention and they are notorious exaggerators for anyone who embraces their cause. And, as far as staying silent on the Pope’s unsettling commentary – he invites dissent. Silence is for people who don’t care. I, on the other hand, very much care what happens to our faith.

You only have a a) biblical argument against global warming or, if not a then b) a scientific argument against climate change. Well, the Bible does not mention it, aside from the fact that it tells us that God made this earth fertile and full of life, and that we have an obligation to preserve his creation, not defile and destroy it. If the Holy Father says that climate change is real, you won’t find a refutation in the Bible. So we go to b, and the simple fact is that 98-99% of the experts in science completely disagree with you. If that is a conspiracy, it’s a really big one.
So you decide to doubt science and the Holy father based on what?
Is the Pope pandering to the left? I doubt it. The left are a lost cause, they aren’t going to turn away from Satan and back towards religion.
But the left are right on some things, I will admit that, and the Pope has to say it. Environmentalism is not bad… And inequality IS crippling our society.
I agree with you that he is being political, and he should be. I want someone to represent Christian views in politics, because the right wing in America have betrayed us. They are far more focused on denying climate change and supporting corporations than in opposing gay marriage, abortion.

“He invites dissent.” Only from Catholics who are more influenced by politicians than by the Church, and those Catholics shouldn’t be a part of the church.

Why do you think your revered “scientists” suddenly changed the name of their imaginary consensus from “global warming” to “climate change.” Because they were proven right?!! No, it was because they were proven, WRONG and the wagons were circling. Please read my other 2 posts on this topic, “Global Warming Goofballs Were Wrong nearly 100 Years Ago and They Are Still Wrong Today!” and “Global Warming Goofballs Vol. #2 Essay 3.” More importantly, my first hand knowledge on this farce, came starlight from the horse’s mouth at Gibb’s Hill Light House on Bermuda in 1994. They tell everyone who visits the light house that they have one of the longest, continuous records of daily temperatures, in the world, starting in 1846 (pre fossil fuel) and that there is no indication in their records that the earth is warming. Why would they lie?

Well, I am, like you, rather ignorant of the topic as I am not a scientist. I didn’t believe in climate change 100%, and for all I know, it could be a hoax. Maybe liberals have paid money to the scientists to lie about it? I don’t know.
But from what I can tell, it’s at the very least, inconclusive. There are lots of ‘evidence’ from both sides and I am not sure what to believe from a purely scientific viewpoint. But if Pope Francis says it’s happening, then I will support that opinion.
Anyway, Laudato Si contains a lot of other things. Environmental degradation IS happening, and even if Mosher thinks the Pope is exaggerating, surely raising awareness to help more people get access to water and protecting the life and nature that God put on this earth isn’t a bad thing?

I’m not sure how old you are but I’m 65 and these same looney types have been pushing these exact same falsehoods for nearly all my life, starting in the 1970s when they hysterically expected an ice age, which included a drawing of the Statue of Liberty buried up to her torch in ice on the front cover of the Time magazine. Then is was solar power in the late 1970s which proved, as it once again did with Obama, to be totally incapable for providing reasonably priced electricity for the average homeowner, as compared with coal, which through scrubber technology, is now nearly pollutant free. Today, the proponents of these politically motivated and regressive ideas, inevitably prove to be old, liberal (sexually, politically, academically, economically, religiously and militarily) back-to-nature, left-over hippie losers, who were young, pot-smoking, day dreamers in college, and as a result, totally missed the boat in a highly competitive, goal-driven world. They are still trying to bend the collective will of the populous to their failed world. Luckily, they are getting old and will soon become totally irrelevant and, soon, just like in the 1980s, the truth will prevalent once again. As for myself, is see NOTHING that indicates global warming is destroying the planet. I’ve traveled to 42 of our 50 states and to 29 foreign countries. Unlike the Pope’s depressing view, I’ve found the planet to be mind-bogglingly BEAUTIFUL! And I prefer to place my faith in a benevolent God would never let His miraculous creation (earth) be destroyed by His most intelligent creator (man). I believe Christian men are blessed with great intellect, sensibility, concern and an unfathomable ability to care for the people and things God has assigned to them. Just as the Pittsburgh Christian steel magnets, Andrew Carnegie and his partner Henry Clay Frick, did in Pittsburgh. When their new steel mills produced SO much pollution that it blocked out the sun at noontime and people had to use their headlights to drive and one of the local white moths that used the white because it used a local white barked tree for camouflage, actually changed its color to black because the tree trunks were coated with black soot, they attacked the unexpected problem produced by their new Bessemer steel process and found a way to eradicate the mess. Heck, if the desert and oceans recovered from the devastation unleashed when Saddam Hussein in Iraq opened all of his oil wells into the Persian Gulf and blew up and set fire to all of the inland wells during the war (Google the photos. They are terrifying) and Chernobyl nuclear melt-down was ultimately shown to have only killed the 35 firemen fighting the actual fire, I would say the earth is much more capable of caring for herself than any of these hysterical political loons are capable of understanding. I prefer to place my faith in the Christian leaders of industry to do as they’ve always done, and without political intimidation or extortion, fix whatever problems arise as they brilliantly and graciously move us into the future.

I am 19. I admit I haven’t seen as much of the world as you have and maybe you are right about climate change.
But as a Catholic, I was taught to follow the Church on these matters. If you truly believe in our doctrine and trust that the Pope is God’s representative on Earth, how can you disagree with him???
There are people who use environmentalism to further their own aims and they will probably use what the Pope said for heinous deeds, and that is regrettable. But even if you don’t agree on climate change, you have to admit from a strictly theological point of view that the Pope is correct in saying that we should take care of the Earth, and we are NOT.
Sure there is beauty everywhere – of course, God has created a beautiful earth and what God has made man cannot utterly destroy. But neither are we taking care of it. Look at the US Mexican sea coast (I am from around those parts, though Im on vacation now) most of the animals there are GONE. Sea turtles, many fishes etc. All because greedy oil companies and politicians didn’t give one damn about our planet. Animals are God’s creation too and more than half of them are vulnerable to extinction now. Example, there are only 20,000 lions left (down from 100,000 a decade ago.)
As for water, look whats happening in California and Arizona. Sure, more people in Africa are getting access to water, but it’s becoming scarce for the rest of us.

I don’t disagree that we are obligated, by God and the Bible, to be good stewards of earth. I disagree with the Pope’s hysterical view that we are doing a BAD job of it and that we should therefore bludgeon our way forward while ignoring the truth and the scientific facts. Your hysterical view that all the sea turtles, etc. have disappeared from the Mexican coastline indicates that you too are misinformed. Or better yet, you have been deliberately brainwashed, throughout your academic years, to believe this hysterical hogwash because well before you were born, radical, second-wave feminists raced into the educational system, to fill the void left behind, when prayer was removed from school in 1964. Again, all I can say is that the Pope is NOT a scientist, nor are his advisers. They are politicians and unfortunately, nowadays, we must always be wary of the political motives when listening to anyone. Again, you must have faith in the influential Christian men, who take their stewardship of the planet very seriously (not those who continue to scream, “the sky is falling!” when it isn’t) Christian men who are on the purely biological, scientific, and climatology (not those who would pretend to be) front lines to do the dirty work of solving any problems that arise. The Pope’s hysterical screaming, laced with misdirected accusations, overtly alarming comments, and over-the-top, outright exaggerations is NOT the way to solve anything. And certainly NOT the way to approach the very serious, scientific community. His approach was rather juvenile and was solely effective in stirring up and emboldening the anti-Christian Creation vs. Creator political gang. Unfortunately, the Pope played right into their hands. I’ll not get into your list of examples of “extinction” as they are all being successfully addressed. But will once again say, “Keep the Faith”, no matter what accidents occur within the ecosystem, God will supply us with a brilliant, Christian man who will rectify the problem. Its much better to concentrate on your family and their lives because there is where you can truly have a life-altering effect on the future. Good luck and God bless.

I went to a Private Catholic All-girls school, we used to pray in school, though I wish I lived in a time where we also did that in public schools.
Obviously I don’t like feminism and the views of the left in general.
However, I find it funny that you are saying to ‘leave science to the scientists’ when all the scientists also believe in climate change. As a Catholic on such an inconclusive subject I will of course support my Church, not call God’s Representative on Earth ‘hysterical’ (shame on you) just because you have been told otherwise by other Christian men. Those men are largely protestants anyway, and in any case are just men, not the Pope.
Anyway, as you noted below, in the end Global Warming is rather irrelevant to us at this moment anyway. The only thing that is ultimately important is our relationship with God, so yes, God Bless.

Google, “That Scientific Global Warming Consensus…NOT!” for just one of dozens of articles about the unpolitical scientists who reject these theories. Also read my posts with quotes from renowned and highly reputable scientists, “Quote – Freeman Dyson on Global Warming Goofballs”; “Quote – John Coleman on Global Warming Goofballs” and even a thought-provoking comment by a comedian “Quote – Larry the Cable Guy on Global Warming Goofballs.” There are thousands of scientist who flatly disagree with the existence of global warming. You might seek them out if you are to do yourself any justice. And by the way, I educated my daughter in all Catholic schools too. Including an all- girls high school. Luckily, at 39, she missed most of this global warming. Indoctrination, as she graduated well before it became prevalent in the educational system.

That’s great! Really, every Christian should try to do the same if they can afford it. We didn’t get indoctrinated with that stuff either at Duchesne. As I said, I didn’t believe it until the Pope said it existed. Then I changed my position, because I am a Catholic.

I would like to comment on a few of your comments here. First of all you are dead wrong about what Jesus said in judging sinners. He did not say that at all. Here is the full text of Mathew 7:1-5 that relates to your comment and the words of Jesus.
Mathew 7:1-5 ” Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgement you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother “Let me take the speck out of your eye” when there is a log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
If you read the last line – Jesus says to judge in the last line “take the speck out of your brother’s eye. He is stating how we should judge, not saying we are not to judge as you indicate. Nowhere does he forbid judging others. He says we should not be a hypocrite when we do judge. We first must look at our own lives with regards to judgement. We can then take the speck out of someone else’s eye.
Also, with regards to global warming – that is just a pack of lies we have all been fed to promote someone else’s agenda – political and monetarily.
Sin is sin and wrong is wrong no matter who is doing the wrong thing. Truth never changes as much as some in this world hope it would.

This “catechism” uses very contemporary language, which makes me suspicious of its authors. If it was written after 1960, it is most likely tinged with liberal, political, feminized undertones. Many of these individuals claim to be both authoritarian Catholic priests, and nuns, when in fact they not recognized by the Church as Catholics at all. The catechism is meant to be clear and understandable for all Catholics. It simplifies and teaches Christian doctrine. I mean, all of us were given the Catechism in Catholic school, it’s very important.
But honestly, if you doubt the bishops, and the cardinals, Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II (who made the decision to publish the Catechism,) I must ask, why are you a Catholic? Sacred tradition is a core tenant of our faith.

I don’t doubt them on matters of faith!!! I doubt them on matters of science! They are NOT scientists, neither are any of the close advisers the Pope is relying on! Not only aren’t they scientists, they’re proving to be purely leftist political creatures! That is a VERY dangerous cocktail of crap for a Pope (the highest representative of GOD on earth) to drink. He looks like he doesn’t trust God enough to fix whatever problems arise, nor does he trust the Christian men, who graciously take serious responsibility for our earthly dominion, to do the same. His encyclical was truly a betrayal of the highest order. Rather than work with, and praise, those who have found great success solving difficult problems (as noted in Mosher’s article) he insults them! He needs to get out more, and really see the world for the miracle it truly is. God be praised!!!

Okay, but tonyasmith is saying that the Pope (and the Catechism) are wrong about judging. They aren’t, he’s wrong because he thinks he can interpret the Bible better than our Bishops (which is of course a falsehood.)

Wow, this was amazing to read.
Another religion we are expected to follow blindly. I remember at one church I attended years back they played that Al Gore movie: An Inconvenient Truth. I never watched it but remember some of the older persons of the church talking about it. I was shocked they would even allow something like that in the church to watch. Just a brazen point of another god to worship.
Another manifesto, perhaps?

While I agree with your comments and appreciate them, may I suggest you proof read before posting? “Error” is the noun, “err” is the verb; the Pope is regarded as “inerrant”, not “on errant”. And you call the Pope out on these issues, not “out of” these issues. Sorry to nit pick but it’s jarring to read and may turn people away from the important issues you’re dealing with….

I am glad that you and some of my other Catholic friends are willing to call the Pope out of these issues. I know other Catholics who feel they must defend each and every statement and action the Pope takes because he is the leader of the Church.
I know from you and from some of my other Catholic friends that some Catholics believe the Pope is on errant on matters of Church doctrine, but he can error in other things as you have pointed out here.
But other Catholics believe that if he could error on anything(even political stances) then that would mean he is capable of error even on Church doctrine.
I am curious what my new Catholic friend Emily(who has recently visited the Vatican will think of this post so that is why I am re-blogging it. Thanks again for you stand Kathy.
