Open Letter to Graydon Carter – Editor of Vanity Fair Magazine – Re: “Caitlyn” Jenner Front Cover

Graydon Carter, 66 – Journalist and Editor of Vanity Fair Magazine since 1992.

The following letter was mailed today.  I would encourage anyone with a subscription to Vanity Fair to cancel it. And I would also encourage anyone who experienced the same dismay I felt, over the “handling” of Jenner by Vanity Fair, to write to Mr. Carter as well.

Graydon Carter, Editor
Vanity Fair Magazine
1 World Trade Center
New York, N.Y. 10007

Mr. Carter,

I cannot begin to express how profoundly disappointed, and shocked, I was with the publication of your July 2015 issue. It caused me to cancel my subscription.

I found it unconscionable, that you would permit such callous, and revoltingly heartless, exploitation of Bruce Jenner’s mental health issues by your magazine and I pray these antics were not predicated on the fact that the print publishing industry is struggling to survive e-publishing. If so, that would be nearly diabolical in nature.

That said, this type of circus performance, undertaken by a nationally acclaimed magazine, was beyond the pale!

Mr. Jenner was once a revered, and respected, U. S. Olympic Champion in whom we, as a country, took great pride. And it is very obvious, to even the casual observer, that he is now suffering with demons whom most of us, gratefully, will never meet. And yet, you chose to place his severe form of mental illness on public display, deliberately exposing him to ridicule and mockery.

Not only was this a highly unprofessional undertaking, but it brought shame on his family, your readers, on you and your magazine as well.

Mental illness is a very serious matter! It is not something to be taken lightly. Especially when you consider the fact that the 1970s theory of “mainstreaming” the mentally ill back into society with a pocket full of Prozac is being swiftly discredited, as nearly every mass shooting in the last 20 years has been undertaken by someone, i.e. Adam Lanza and James Eagan Holmes, who was either taking powerful psychotropic drugs or who had taken them in the immediate past, just before committing their horrific crimes. And yet, you display Mr. Jenner’s mental illness for all of the world to see, and as though it did not exist!

Granted, in Jenner’s case, he is unlikely to become a mass shooter. But, he will be at considerable risk for suicide. The following quote is from a  WSJ article by Dr. Paul McHugh, “A 2011 study at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden produced the most illuminating results yet regarding the transgendered, evidence that should give advocates pause. The long-term study—up to 30 years—followed 324 people who had sex-reassignment surgery. The study revealed that beginning about 10 years after having the surgery, the transgendered began to experience increasing mental difficulties. Most shockingly, their suicide mortality rose almost 20-fold above the comparable nontransgender population. This disturbing result has as yet no explanation but probably reflects the growing sense of isolation reported by the aging transgendered after surgery. The high suicide rate certainly challenges the surgery prescription.”

And to make matters worse, here is another quote from a recent article in cnsnews.com, “Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.”

And yet this, for some unfathomable reason, is exactly what you have done!

Not only was the publication of the “new” Jenner on your magazine’s front cover a despicable betrayal of a once great man but by seeking to “normalize” his very serious mental illness, you have betrayed your readers as well.

My only consolation in this disturbing matter is the fact that the July issue was the thinnest I’ve ever received. My hope is that your advertisers, who obviously failed to support this outlandish display of depravity, and misleading imagery, will remain as revolted as I am by your poor judgement, and will also fail to return to the fold.

I am returning my unopened issue of the magazine to YOU, as it is unworthy of my trash bin.

  1. Dear K.Q. Duane,

Bravo on your letter as it highlights the TRUTH about what is going on here—the exploitation of a mentally ill person. I believe the “transgendered” is a type of dysmorphia—and there are many are types of “dysmorphia.” Think of the women who dislike themselves so much they have tons of surgery to make them look like a human Barbie doll. Or even Michael Jackson, who hated himself so much that he went through an endless amount of surgeries to alter himself. But no amount of surgeries (reassignment) can ever stop the madness for these people and truly satisfy them as they are allowed to live out a delusion. The behavior displayed appears to be “compulsive” in nature “narcissistic” attention-seeking as they are desperate to be recognized and loved. These types of issues come about due to some trauma one has experienced in life. (Look at Michael Jackson. Heavily abused and a heavy amount of shame and hatred for self as a result for his father’s actions).

We’ve become a society that “celebrates” dysfunction now or things that just aren’t good and healthy. Just the other day, I saw a video that went viral of a woman who was offended when she overheard a little girl saying that the plus sized shirt looked big enough for two of her to fit in it. She had take a picture of herself in the shirt, put it on internet and get “validation” for being large and shame the little girl and mom because it hurt her. A normal response would be to use that situation as a spring board to start exercising and get healthy. Sometimes feeling bad can prompt us to act in a better way and take responsibility for ourselves.Look at the medical evidence of what happens to a person who is overweight. Heart issues, diabetes, early death to name a few. But she needed to be “celebrated” for being overweight.

This “follow your heart” mentality denies the fact that any desire we have might be wrong—so we live by our desires and affirm them as there is now no absolute right or wrong. Think of a married man’s desire for another woman who is not his wife. Or the sex perve who desires young children, or the murder’s desires. This opens the door to just about anything goes. Funny, isn’t that the Satanic moto? “Do as Thou Wilt?”

And what is scarier is the the young commenter CeCe above. It shows the absolute success of the mainstream media in indoctrinating the younger generation. Where there is no absolute values instilled in children (by way of parents instilling morality), there leaves a void whereas they will be extra vulnerable to the values of the society.

Do you remember growing up? Everyone was “bullied” in some way. I was “bullied” because I wore glasses and was a band nerd. I should have started a movement to protect people who get bullied and wear glasses and are in the band! But my dad used it to teach me to have empathy for others who were mistreated and told me to put on my Big Girl Pants and handle it myself because LIFE IS NOT FAIR and there will always be mean people that I will encounter throughout my life.

There is NO personal accountability rewarded today it seems.

Sorry if I ranted too long. But your letter was the best and most truthful assessment of this entire Bruce Jenner situation.

    • Thank you for taking the time to express what is so obvious to so many of us. Our children have been stolen from us by the radical feminization of female baby boomers in the late 1960s and early 1970s. When men were trashed as oppressive and dominating, by the non-Christian, anti-Christian originators of radical second feminism like Friedan, Steinem and
Nader Ginsburg, women were not only denied the absolute truth as defined by the tenets of their former Christian faith but brainwashed to believe ANYTHING but what Christianity represented as the truth. Here in lies the fundamental reason moral relativism has swamped the country. Christian men, and their absolute truths, have been disparaged by their own, formerly Christian, women. That kind of headwind is nearly impossible to offset when reinforced by every other radicalized feminist institution, including academia, but more importantly and incredibly, many of the feminized Christian churches that chose to deny the Bibles absolute truths to “tolerate” and be “inclusive” of female members who believed in the twisted ideology of radical feminism as opposed to the tenets of their Christian faith. From this depleted point of view, everything is acceptable. Without the guiding strength of truly same and Christian men like Dad, which was denied to children by the liberalization and feminization of the divorce laws, we have entered the third generation of fatherless children raised by radical feminist mothers and the outcome should surprise no one because as we know that those who fail to believe in God will believe in anything! Please read my post, “10+ Tenets of Christianity vs. 10+ Ideals of Radical Feminism” for more details on this destructive phenomena.

      • Dear K. Q. Duane,

I think you nailed it with the quote: “Christian men, and their absolute truths, have been disparaged by their own, formerly Christian, women” as it is spot on. I have never really heard it put quite this way. However, I have seen this in action everywhere, causing massive destruction to the family as you so eloquently point out.

I have just found your site via What Women Never Hear and will definitely be checking out all your articles. I’ll be up late reading tonight for sure!

I want to thank you for your work exposing the lies of feminism. There’s a lot of work to be done.

      • Thank you for your comment. The most important part of my mission is to break through the smoke screen of radical feminism and expose its destructive nature to those who are too young to remember what the world was like before it raised its ugly head in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Most young people, especially women, have never been told, by our totally secularized society, that there is a much better way to live their lives. Nor do they know that by choosing a “feminist lifestyle”, that they unwittingly becoming their own worst enemies. The level of brainwashing is astounding and most is put forth through feminist academia, starting in pre-school and continuing through grad school. That is a LONG time to successfully brainwash children, and sadly, these twisted female academics, who have substituted the radical ideology of feminism for the tenets of their former Christian faith, have been very successful at stealing our children, primarily our girls, from God. Please be sure to read, “10+ Tenets of Christianity vs. 10+ Ideals of Radical Feminism”, “Longform Essay – Why Did the Founder’s of Radical Second-Wave Feminism Hate Men?”, “Longform Essay – How Did “Patriarchy” become a Dirty Word?” and “Short Essay – First vs. Second vs. Third-Wave Feminism”. They will bring you up to speed quickly. Thank you again for your interest.

  2. Cece ,you are mistaken to *think* K.Q. is wrong. I have been to many sites telling of the same mental illness and also one in which this transgender man writes that he regrets his change and encourages everyone that comes to his site to NOT do this. His story is sad and full of pain. I feel for him as a human being. There was another study done in the Netherlands in which a whole community was either transgender or homo. No one discouraged their thinking or ways. What did the study prove? The mental illness was in full swing. (KQ, I think this was on Mr. Makow’s site)

No, Cece it is not us that is doing the bullying but your brainwashed thinking. Because if you do even a 1/4 of your own search, you would find out so much more. It is the mental illness that is causing this, and your own type of bullying from your raging conscious is demanding us to accept it, which we do not and shall not. Sadly, this is your religion.

Everything we do is free will and of our choosing. You call yourself more civilized and say she as an inconsiderate attitude and is lack of common sense. Since you are in high school, I am afraid that is more telling of the education that is going on now. Besides, you would not be here to argue your mute point unless a man and a woman were joined sexually…. married or not. The rules still apply.

I believe if you hang around here you might find truth and ask questions. There are people here, older people like KQ, myself and others that know, search, look up, find, and seek. You probably would hate the site What Women Never Hear. But then again……

The truth is hate to those that hate the truth.

We don’t hate you, Cece but pray God in time will change your heart and thinking. He can always plant seeds and perhaps that is why you are here. :o)
I for one hope you will hang around. Unload your anger and keep reading along with me for I am still learning quite a lot myself.

    • It would seem, Cece my first nuance of you was correct. You wrote a poem about your little voice…..snip (Of that little voice that’s holding me back.) It is not us my dear teen, it is your nature calling. Not listening to it will none the less, make you an ill gotten gain to the mental illness that will over take you. God is scary that way (whether you believe in him or not) He will push you over the edge and there will be nothing in which you can do. It will simply be as a piano player hitting the same key of a wrong note… mad, mad, mad, MAD… always practicing madness…………..

      practicing madness = mental illness

I am sorry to say I just thought of that. What an extremely depressing thought! Even for a Monday!!!!

  3. Suicide rates in the transgender community are so high simply because of people like you who bully them. People like you who tell them they are wrong or ill. Transgender people are not “mentally ill.” They are like the rest of us, only they happen to feel their identity does not match what they were born as. I mean, even you and I feel that. Do you still feel like the description “7 pounds 8 ounces” or whatever you weighed still describes you? Well transgender people feel that male no longer describes them or vice versa. Please do not be a bully.

    • You are so brainwashed, by lies and misinformation put forward by the LBGT tyrants, that you are totally blinded to the truth. Try thinking for yourself! Try searching for the real truth. Try not to be a lapdog for the liars. “Bullying” is a BS excuse for losers and to hide behind those lies denies these people the professional health treatment they deserve, no different than someone who suffers from cancer, or do you believe that doesn’t exist either?

      • Cancer is an overgrowth of cells. Transgender is an identity, not caused by an abundance of cells, nor any disease. I am one of your “lgbt tyrants” by the way. I am not the one insulting people, but rather standing up for myself and others like me. We are a minority oppressed by people like you, who are more open to hate than love. I am not transgender, but I am a lesbian. I hope someday you see that everyone is different, and you can’t blame it all on disease.

      • Huh. Weird how high schoolers like me can be more civilized than people like you. Oops, my bad. This one isn’t quite as nice is it? My bad… Must be your inconsiderate attitude and lack of common sense. I always thought that was a thing with the new generation, but I guess we got it from somewhere…

      • My dear, you lack a balanced viewpoint on this vital issue. Bringing your information levels up, to reflect the truth on this matter, is well above my pay grade. Once more, YOU must continue to seek help in order to offset the devastatingly inaccurate information you hold to be true. Otherwise, your life will always SUCK!

      • My life is amazing as it is. Sorry, but I don’t need help to make my life enjoyable. I can do it all on my own. Flirting with girls is an especially wonderful experience. I’m really sorry but I’m getting bored of your repetitive, incorrect points on MY life… So I’m terribly sorry I have to say goodbye now. Oh wait, no I’m not sorry.
