Longform Essay – Why Does the False Pretext of “Equality” Diminish, Rather Than Increase, the Value of Women?

EqualityWhen the non-Christian, radical, second-wave feminists, including Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, Bella Abzug and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, invented the need for “equality” between the sexes, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, they were NOT the least bit interested in attaining full “equality” for women, but rather were more interested in seeking vengeful inequality for men.

This first group of second-wave feminists were hateful women bent on destroying the perceived dominance of men within our society. They mistakenly proclaimed that the power men wielded in business, academia, military, organized religion, judiciary, politics and at home, was totally at the expense of women. This irrational conclusion stemmed from their personal experiences, while being raised in non-Christian households, where men reigned supreme and women were whining doormats.

In their misguided efforts to level the playing field, within their own private worlds, they began a rampage against men in general, assuming that all men behaved as did their fathers, uncles and brothers. This led to the unwarranted, and now, nearly 50-year-old assault, on Christian men as well.

Equality3Unfortunately, during the birth of second-wave feminism, most Christian men (America was 94% Christian at the time) did not take note of these women’s outrageous claims of “patriarchy”, “domination” and “oppression” of women, because they knew their accusations did not apply to them. Nor did they acknowledge the radical’s need for “equality”, as Christian men understood that women were of equal value to society and just functioned within different spheres of, and equally important, influence.

Despite the radical feminist’s rants to the contrary, Christian men did NOT deliberately diminish the women they loved, nor did they denigrate their wives and daughters at home, nor did they view themselves as some illustrious human being, as compared to women. This scenario was a complete fabrication invented by the second-wave, non-Christian, ranting, dysfunctional feminists.

Blessed Mother Mary and Infant Jesus

Blessed Mother Mary and Infant Jesus

The feminist’s misguided views, on the perceived “inequality” between the sexes, were based on false assumptions generated by their own individual upbringings. Unlike these radical women’s personal experiences, Christian women had always been revered, and respected, by their men, just as Jesus had taught Christian men to behave, through His continued devotion to, and love for, His Blessed Mother Mary.

There has never been “inequality” between Christian men and women, just differing (and just as important) responsibilities. All of which were designed by God for the protection and well-being of children.

Men were the protectors and the providers, as dictated by their physical strength and women were the nurturers and the “heart of the home”, as dictated by their emotional intensity.

This equal division of labor, when blended together, provided the perfect environment for raising children. Nothing was left to chance, all the necessities of life were provided for and everyone was happy. That is until radical, second-wave feminism reared its ugly head, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and shifted the focus AWAY from the children and TOWARDS the women themselves.

equality 5Upon reflection, these radical feminist’s imaginary pretext of “gender inequality” was based, laughably, on location.

These dysfunctional women (not their men) believed that “home” was a second-rate environment; a place of containment; an atmosphere of intellectual subjugation for women, as compared to the outside world. Their irrational conclusion was that women who stayed home were being “oppressed” by their men, thereby depleting women’s importance in the world, when in fact, the reverse was true.

Just as W. R. Wallace wrote, “The hand that rocks the cradle, is the hand that rules the world.” Women have set the tone of life throughout human history, and during the last 2000 years, Christian women have perfected it.

Their children and their children’s children have blessed America, in particular, with peace, prosperity and happiness as has no other country in human history. These Christian women, through their love and guidance, produced some of the best people on earth. Their children were good, honest, trustworthy and loyal men and women. Unlike the radical feminists, Christian women are, and always have been, the vital, and equally important, backbone of our successful country.

But rather than follow this proven plan to Paradise, millions of young, female baby boomers, during the late 1960s and 1970s, were instead, bamboozled into following a divergent path. A path the non-Christian, radical feminists, and their non-Christian comrades in the news media, newspaper industry, publishing industry and entertainment industry, disingenuously promoted as the way to a bright and successful future for women. A path by which they could finally attain “equality” with men. And, this path was, laughably, to leave home and get a job. DUH?

equality 2Incredibly, this is just what these young women did. While in pursuit of a job, they left home in droves to attend college. But, once away at school many of these young baby boomers found they were profoundly lonely, and very home sick, (as they should have been, having left their loving family at home) but since most were the first females in their families to ever attend college, the pressure from home to stay in college was overwhelming.

No parent wanted their daughter to return home before she had acquired her degree. And, this only amplified the need for these young Christian women to redefine themselves.

So, in their efforts to enter this brave, new, world of full-time employment, they unwittingly jettisoned everything that truly made their contributions of equal value to that of the men, and instead, spent their precious youth trying to become men, rather than remain women.

As a result, and for the first time in their lives, these young girls were forced to “get tough” and face their “bright” future of full-time employment alone, away from home, and without any help from their “peasant”, “old-fashioned” Christian parents.

And, who were the loudest and toughest girls in the arena? –  the non-Christian, radical, second-wave feminists who were, after 5000 years of subjugation, out to prove themselves to be, not only “equal” to men, but better than men.

equality 6As a result, these older radical feminist women gave voice to the voiceless, naive, lonely, young Christian female, baby boomers who were looking to invent a new way of life for themselves.

With the removal of school prayer in 1964 and the legalization of abortion in 1974, for the first time in American history, Christianity was under public attack, leaving these same young women questioning the validity of their faith in this “brave, new, world.”

To this end, every secularized magazine, newspaper, and television station run by non-Christians highlighted the “gripes” issued by these non-Christian, radical feminists, which gave “legitimacy” to their demands for “equality.”

And so, millions of young women, adrift in the societal chaos of the era, realigned themselves with the non-Christian feminists. Feminists who claimed to know the bright path into the future world of workplace equality. Radicals who focused on an illustrious future based on “career” rather than on “old-fashioned” family values.

Well, 50 years later, I think we know how this social engineering “experiment” worked out. For the non-Christian feminists, who truly wanted to be men, it’s been grand. Family never meant much to them (even children).  So, they got away from home, and got the education, “career”, and self-centered domination they desired, just like their men. In addition, they got the attention they were never able to acquire from their parents as children. Granted, it was superficial, public and banal, but it was enough.

The Christian women, on the other hand, did not fair as well, mainly because their upbringings had been so drastically different from the non-Christians.

In the end, these formerly Christian young women longed for the loving family they had denied themselves while pursuing a “sexually liberated”,”feminist lifestyle”, based solely on their ego-centric “career.”

Do I scare you with my war paint?

“Equality” had proved to be a double-edged sword. As highly motivated young, single, female, college grads, most of these women had pursued “equality” for women in all situations, but especially in the workplace.

But unfortunately, for the Christian women, the quest for equality pushed the fountainhead of their emotional lives into obscurity, leaving them drained, both emotionally and physically.

And, sadly for most, while striving for 25 years to become “equal” to men in the workplace, they had unwittingly given up most of their femininity, their own families, and ironically, their happiness.

Combat Cuties?

In their unnatural effort to acquire “equality” with men Christian women gave up the very essence of their female souls. The very elements of their feminine constitution which had evoked the respect and admiration that Christian women had enjoyed for centuries. In trying to become men, they instead, became comedic caricatures of themselves.

They allowed themselves to become feminist fools. In their ridiculous efforts to try to successfully morph themselves into men, they allowed their entire human nature to become warped, as their tone of voice became strident; their words became courser; their clothing became masculine; their sports became butchy; their manner became aggressive; their sex lives became promiscuous; and their appearance became hardened.

If it weren’t so pathetic, it would be laughable, as these foolish feminist’s entire lives were focused on becoming a man. The very same “pig” they supposedly abhorred. This entire undertaking was not only totally irrational, it was certifiably insane.

women tired at workWell, here we are 50 years later. And, how has the “equality” in the workplace panned out for Christian women? Not so good? Gee, why is that? Exhausted? Lonely? Frustrated? Poor? Childless? Divorced? Unhappy? Sad? How is that? It was supposed to be GREAT!

Well, I guess the feminists must have forgotten to tell their Christian troops that in order for Christian women to attain “equality in the workplace” they would have to give up everything that Christian women had yearned for, and excelled at, for centuries – marriage, husband, children and family life, or drive themselves crazy trying to “have it all.”

In hindsight, the female baby boomers were too young, inexperienced and ignorant to realize that there can be no “family life” without two equal individuals (husband and wife) contributing their God-given natural talents to their families security and well-being.

And, despite decades of rants to the contrary, for Christian women, the path with the greatest success rate for happiness, is still through a Christian marriage. A traditional marriage where loving husbands and devoted wives are dedicated to their children’s future, and are therefore truly equal, but simply different.

Despite what radical, second-wave feminists espouse, there is no such thing as a “Superwoman”. And, women most certainly, cannot do it all alone. The truth is, there is no “equality” in trying to become a man. Something has to give, and unfortunately for millions of female Christian baby boomers, it was their joyful lives and blessed families.

  1. Saying that all men are horrible because some horrible things have happened to you and to the people around you is very wrong and very unfair. I get it. But to say that all men are good and amazing because the people around you have been good and amazing, that is the exact same mistake. And your entire argument seems to be based on exactly this. There are no facts. No statistics. Nothing. Simply the fact that your personal experiences seem to be an honest and complete definition of the world to you and anyone whose definition is different, well, they have just had bad personal experiences.

  2. Any good books for people who were questioning (the merit and worth) of equality and egalitarianism preferably anti-left, Christian ones? Good to know some. Thanks.

    • You can check out my “Good Books” tab at the top of my Home page for many self-explanatory books. Christina Hoff Sommers book, “Who Stole Feminism?”, is VERY enlightening and a must read for anyone questioning the value of feminism.

  3. “Gender equality” is a lie. I know many find it hard to believe, but the whole narrative about “women’s ‘subjugation’ for centuries’ is full of lies. As what they mean is that women being not permitted to commit adultery, divorce, fornication, or be a “careerist” who works not to provide for her family, but for own professional goals, is ‘oppressive’ and the ‘subjugation’ of women.

Of course a woman, or man for that matter should not be permitted to commit adultery, fornicate etc!

Then people may say, “oh, men were permitted to commit adultery”. Well, that misses the point about what sin is, and that sin is sin.One should just accept that not should not be socially permitted to sin, even if others are. It is sinful to even think about how others are socially permitted to sin. A righteous person would not even think about comparing oneself with others in this way.

Women in the ancient pagan world have been at least as vile as today’s women, with the ritual prostitution and child sacrifice.

Nothing is new under the sun as Ecclesiastes says.

  4. How to support effort to reduce maternal death (one of issues in developing countries) without embracing or associated with radical feminism?

    • I’m assuming the feminists are using “maternal deaths” as a reason to support their radical agenda of “women’s health”, which is code for abortion. In the USA, maternal death RARELY, if ever, happens anymore. It has been solved with hospital deliveries for nearly all babies. The Catholic Church is uniquely qualified to provided hospital and medical care to pregnant women of Indonesia, as it started the very first hospitals in the world, centuries ago. If the Indonesian feminists are to be believed, (and someone should verify their stats as feminists are notorious LIARS when pursuing an item on their radical agenda) Indonesia must still be experiencing maternal deaths at rates that are unacceptable. If that’s truly the case, advancing pre-natal medical care, through the Catholic Church, is a far superior approach to reducing maternal deaths than killing the babies before they are born!!!

      • The government statistic in mine said so (high maternal death). And yes, your answer is definitely agreed with. Even in mine the Catholic leaders were tend to be a bit liberal in case of religious tolerance and human rights even not as bad as in the West by generally anti abortion (perhaps due to the influence of the Dutch priests back in the colonial age). In fact I encountered a lapsed one in Facebook who is a radical feminist and one of the organizers of the “women’s march” back in March 4 in Jakarta.

  5. Ever heard about CEDAW or Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women, from the UN?

And what is your opinion about that instrument, ma’am? Should it be abrogated in some sort?

    • CEDAW’s goals are completely unattainable, and therefore, purely political and totally irrational. The radical feminists who lead this group are NOT interested in the notion of eliminating ALL forms of discrimination against women, because that is an impossible goal attain. What they truly seek is the political power to unreasonably bully and browbeat men because they are simply behaving like men! Men who function best in an orderly environment. Men who strive for civility. Men who are directed by God to protect and provide for their families. Men who love deeply, want to marry forever and have children of their own. Men who hate criminality, societal chaos and those that seek to destroy the things they love, including Christianity, family and country. As a result, CEDAW should be abrogated because it is based on a very hateful, twisted, prejudicial, irrational and bigoted agenda which seeks to destroy innocent men who simply want for their families what 5000 of history has taught them, that the tenets of Christianity provides its adherents, as opposed to radical feminism, with peace, prosperity, joy and eternal life.

      • Interesting, had you read the text of that convention? The reproductive right in that convention might (and has) become a problem due to being used as tool to impose abortion rights.

But how about equal opportunities in politics, education, career (disclaimer: I also respect stay at home mothers becausd my mother is one of them!!)?

Or so called “cultural pattern” about public and domestic realm that the document seem to seek to abolish, which are the problem?

        Source: http://www.ohchr.org/EN/ProfessionalInterest/Pages/CEDAW.aspx

      • These “leaders” were very likely abused as children. Child abuse is the principle reason for this type of hateful, explosive and irrational behavior. A horrific set of personal circumstances which, ironically, is considered an advantage, by their compatriots, in their efforts to unilaterally condemn the tenets of Christianity. They are simply hateful sociopaths. But, unfortunately, the non-Christian mental health professionals of the 1970s took it upon themselves to feminized, and destigmatize, this form of insanity, leaving these obviously disturbed individuals roaming the earth, with distrurbing results. Google the “Women’s March on Washington”, which occurred last weekend here in America. You’ll will see and hear the same irrational public behavior, by the same kinds of crazy women.

      • As with most of these “well-intentioned” female programs, they are based on the priorities of white, middle class, Western FEMINISTS, most of whom are lesbians and rabid anti-Christian, anti-family and anti-male extremists. But, more unfortunately, these women are trained to seek solutions where there are none. Rather than proposing solutions by advocating for the personal adoption of the tenets of Christianty (which would eraditate ALL of these problems if they were adopted by the populous) they instead send gullible young women down a path to self-destruction, by embracing promescuity, single motherhood, “careers” first, abortion, “independence” and irresponsibility, and THEN have the unmitigated gall to demand that those of us who know these are dangerous and delusional behaviors, accept their irrational RANTS to the contrary! Again, when the majority of a country’s citizenry is comprised of Christians, it has been proven, time and time again, that it is the ONLY successful method of reducing humanity’s suffering to a handleable minimum. NOTHING else has produced more “heaven on earth” than the civility, prosperity, happiness, peace and tranquility created by Christian Western Civilization. When you review the history of Western Civilization, and then compare it to the depleted results once it was withdrawn from those same countries, the outcomes are telling. When the Christian warriors arrived in foreign lands, they improved the lives of the native populous. Granted it was not always perfect, but certainly it were better than what they found. And, when they were finally forced to withdraw, under the native populous’ foolish and egocentric demands for “independance”, the Western legacies, culture and civility eventually collapsed! Just look at the barbarism, poverty and hell that Africa, Pakistan and the remainder of the Middle East is now suffering as a result of European withdrawal from those former colonies. This can also be seen in Cuba, Haiti and most of the Caribbean. This also holds true for much of Central America. Only America, which until recently embraced the tenets of Christian Western Civilization, was able to sustain and advance, even further, than their forebearers. But, for those colonies that abandoned Christian Western Civilization, the health, wealth, safety, and civility of their counties has been dramatically reduced, or totally annihilated, by the withdrawal of the intellectually, emotionally and physically STRONG, good, moral, responsible Christian men’s influence, protection and leadership. These crazy feminist’s have been brainwashed by their misguided (AND WRONG) non-Christian, anti-Christian, debauched, radical, second-wave, feminist “leaders” to believe Christian MEN are the problem, when in fact, they are the SOLUTION!

      • Interesting. Your choice of words could be interpreted as glorifying colonialism by some people (particularly someone from third world country). Yes, you might not deliberately intended to do so due to acknowledgement of imperfection of European rule back then (particularly French and Dutch) and religions other than Christianity is partially responsible of suffering of the third world or syncretism in case of Africa and Latin America.

Yes, I’m also from a third world country. UN in some cases is a joke and “outlived its usefulness”.

      • I’ve yet to see a “third-world” country advance beyond that stage without European help. Sadly, most have regressed once European Christians withdrew. Can you name a former European colony that is fundamentally better off today economically, spiritually, socially or politically? It’s hard to find one.

      • Singapore went through depression and political upheaval for nearly 50 years after “independence”, including the mess with Malaysia. They finally succeeded only because, unlike most other former European colonies, they once again reactivated British methods of economic development and embraced their British legacy of public education. India and South Africa are slums compared to when they were colonies. India is swamped with abject poverty and Johannesburg is now a war zone with Muslims slaughtering whites by the thousands every year!

      • Are you serious? No country has EVER benefitted from being colonialised- and even if it has, the losses have been far more numerous and tremendous so as to outweigh any possible benefits- be it British colonialism or Japanese for that matter. I don’t know if you simply have a habit of yapping about things that you have NO idea about or you are really buying into this alternative history.
India and South Africa were minor hells when under colonial rule. India’s poverty now is NOTHING compared to what it was under British rule. Ever heard of the Bengal famine? Thousands upon thousands dying as the British government did absolutely nothing. Ever heard of the Jallianwala Bagh incident? Hundreds of unarmed men, women and children shot at until ammunition ran out. Ever heard of Apartheid?
Colonialism was simply a process to leach off of raw material of the colony to enrich the colonisers themselves. Countries like India and South Africa would have progressed anyway, just like any country does when left to its own devices to develop itself- look at Japan, South Korea, China,- except that there were countries that grew AT THEIR EXPENSE. You are supporting notions that even they themselves don’t anymore. And, demands for freedom are “EGOCENTRIC”?? Demands for freedom are when you are so suffocated you can’t breathe anymore, when your people have bled and suffered and died. “Warriors”??? Don’t kid yourself. Are you a warrior if the other person does not even have guns? No, because then it isn’t war. It’s plain old slaughter. It is hating people because you think their skins are wrong, but moving into their house anyway. It is turning the inmates of that house onto each other, because you would rule in the ensuing chaos.
It is the HEIGHT of white supremacy, cruelty and insensitivity to call them anything but what they are- greedy, murdering plunderers

  6. Feminists in their own words:

“Since marriage constitutes slavery for vwomen, it is clear that the women’s movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage.” Sheila Cronam, feminist leader

“We can’t destroy the inequities between men and women until we destroy marriage.” — Robin Morgan

“I claim that rape exists any time sexual intercourse occurs when it has not been initiated by the woman, out of her own genuine affection and desire.”
    — Robin Morgan

“Marriage as an institution developed from rape as a practice.” — Andrea Dworkin

“Heterosexual intercourse is the pure, formalized expression of contempt for women’s bodies.” — Andrea Dworkin

“Feminism is the theory, lesbianism is the practice.” — Ti-Grace Atkinson

“In a patriarchal society, all heterosexual intercourse is rape because women, as a group, are not strong enough to give meaningful consent.”
    — Catharine MacKinnon, quoted in Professing Feminism: Cautionary Tales from the Strange World of Women’s Studies.

“All men are rapists and that’s all they are”
    — Marilyn French, Authoress; (later, advisoress to Al Gore’s Presidential Campaign.)

“Let’s forget about the mythical Jesus and look for encouragement, solace and inspiration from real women… Two thousand years of patriarchal rule under the shadow of the cross ought to be enough to turn women toward the feminist ‘salvation’ of this world”
    — Annie Laurie Gaylor, “Feminist Salvation,” “The Humanist”, July/August 1988, p.37

    Absolutely crazy stuff!

    • People who were subscribing to such absurdity described deserve to be put under surveillance from intelligence services; if there were such thing as a family friendly government.

      • Agreed! I’m convinced that adopting the ideology of radical feminism as a lifestyle not only requires women to totally abandon the tenets of their former Christian faith, but it actually begets insanity.

  7. Amen! Well said. Welcome back!

This really rings true, “In their unnatural effort to acquire “equality” with men Christian women gave up the very essence of their female souls.”

As hard as feminism has been on men, is has come very close to nearly completely erasing everything that gave women their sense of value, satisfaction, contentment.
